The qualified candidate is responsible for planning and execution of cross-functional projects to implement security tools to protect client’s information and assets. The candidate leads initiatives that harden client’s Host, Network, or IAM security posture and capabilities from requirements through delivery, following discreet procedures and protocols to ensure integrity and compliance while working with technical team and cross-functional project delivery team.
Security Project Lead act as a liaison to the other Information Security and IT functional groups, influencing outcomes as appropriate and coordinate with security engineers to provide 3rd level production support for security applications working hands in hand on cross-functional teams.
Lead/Manager should be able to navigate diverse personalities and understand when to escalate and when to drive forward.
Candidate will be part of a broader client team which collaborate to share ideas, challenges to be effective at the client.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONs:
Create, build, manage project plan with discreet tasks given a project charter and access to the teams which will deliver the solution
Regularly present project risks, issues, and status to client stakeholders
Drive the project through the client’s pre-defined System Development Lifecycle / Change Management Processes
Manage and provide lead role to cross functional teams to build security capabilities based on the requirement of the projects.
Act as a liaison to the security SMEs and cross-functional project team, creation of the technical support artifacts such as process flow diagrams for incident management, standard operating procedures (“SOPs”) for handling system alerts and implementation of mitigating controls as defined by client security standards.
Develop Technical and Functional Documents as required for the project team
Define and develop RACI, SLAs and support documentations for the project
Develop Standard Operating Procedure and Troubleshooting guides while working with the technical team
Update documentation for new users and disaster recovery as needed
Participate in project status/technical discussions
Plan and drive security team with the help from security engineers and ensure implementations are done based on the requirements and standardized process.
Communicate and escalate issues related to project and provide weekly status update.
Manage and lead technical discussions for artifacts creation between Security, Infrastructure and Support teams.
Drive technical demonstrations of new tech or workflow processes
Shadow and reverse shadow training of resources taking over the support transition.
Potential to gain junior PMs underneath, and lead that team to support administrative tasks for the overall PM of project
